As per the latest New Zealand Dental Council recommendation, dental practices may remain open as an essential service for emergency treatment only. This means that all non-essential treatment will be deferred until governmental sanctions are lifted.
All six of our Auckland Family Dental practices will be open for emergency treatment during the four-week lockdown period.
• Emergency treatment includes oral-facial trauma, significant infection, prolonged bleeding or pain which cannot be managed by medications.
• Non-essential treatment includes all diagnostic and preventative services such as examinations, x-rays, hygiene (cleaning) and fillings – these must be deferred for an interim period.
